Travellers often confuse EES, ETIAS and the 90/180-day rule. They are connected because they relate to short-stay travel, but they do different things.
EES
The Entry/Exit System is about digitally registering border crossings and supporting stay-history checks.
ETIAS
ETIAS is a travel authorisation system for many visa-exempt travellers. It is not the same as a visa and does not replace stay-duration limits.
90/180 rule
The 90/180 rule is the stay-duration limit many short-stay travellers must respect.
